Repaying Student Loans

It's back to school time! And that means much financial stress for many parents and students too. Did you know that in 2016 the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, using 2012 data from the credit bureau Equifax, determined that 35% of people under 30 who were supposed to be making student loan payments each month were actually 90 or more days delinquent? Those numbers are astounding!

A recent New York Times article "A Beginner’s Guide to Repaying Student Loans" by Ron Lieber was a recent read of mine and one that I felt was a really helpful road map to paying down student debt.

A Beginner’s Guide to Repaying Student Loans

In his article, Ron covers:

  • What you owe
  • When & who you owe
  • Repayment periods including loan consolidation

Our comprehensive financial planning services will provide you with the projections you need to save for your children’s education expenses, as well as paying off your student debt.
